Protecting Bridge Structures for Decades of Service
Coating Systems
System Benefits
- Approved system for bridge structures — the coating system meets the requirements of TKP 19B – System IA and ONS 02, which allows it to be used on projects by the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) and the Railway Administration.
- Long-term protection in harsh outdoor environments — the combination of an epoxy primer and a polyurethane topcoat creates a durable barrier against corrosion, moisture, and UV radiation.
- Designed for ZnAl15 hot-dip galvanized coatings — the system is intended for application over hot-dip galvanized ZnAl15 coatings, where it ensures long-term protection of the entire structure.
- Solutions for transportation infrastructure — suitable for new bridge structures and other steel structures requiring a coating system with a long service life.
What to Watch Out For
- The system is intended exclusively for ZnAl15 metallization coating—different coating systems are approved for other types of substrates.
- Follow the prescribed coating composition and layer thicknesses—only the approved system meets the requirements of TKP 19B and ONS.
- The quality of the metallization affects the system’s service life—the substrate must be properly prepared and free of contaminants before application.

Approved for the Road and Motorway Directorate and the Railway Administration
The system complies with the requirements of TKP 19B – IA and ONS 02, which facilitates its specification in project documentation and the construction of transportation infrastructure.
Designed for bridge structures
Optimized for structures with a hot-sprayed ZnAl15 coating, where together they form a long-lasting protective system.
Long-term corrosion protection
ZG 17 epoxy primer and PE 73 polyurethane topcoat provide high resistance to corrosion, UV radiation, and weathering.

System Benefits
- Approved system for bridge structures — the coating system meets the requirements of TKP 19B – IC and ONS 23 systems, which allows it to be used on projects by the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) and the Railway Administration.
- Multi-layer corrosion protection — the combination of the zinc-filled epoxy primer ZG 18, the epoxy intermediate coat ZG 17, and the polyurethane topcoat PE 73 provides long-term protection for steel structures.
- High resistance to weathering and mechanical stress — the system is designed for long-term service in the demanding outdoor environment of transportation infrastructure.
- A solution for both new and renovated bridge structures — suitable for projects with high requirements for service life, reliability, and long-term corrosion protection.
What to Watch Out For
- High-quality blast cleaning is essential for the system’s service life—we recommend surface preparation to at least Sa 2½.
- Follow the specified composition and coating thicknesses—only a complete system meets the requirements of TKP 19B and ONS.
- Two-component coatings require proper mixing — the exact ratio of the components is essential for achieving the specified properties.

System Benefits
- Approved system for hot-dip galvanized bridge structures — the coating system meets the requirements of TKP 19B – IIIA and IIIC as well as ONS 92, which allows it to be used on projects by the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) and the Railway Administration.
- Excellent adhesion to hot-dip zinc — the ZG 17 epoxy primer creates a reliable bonding bridge between the zinc coating and the polyurethane topcoat.
- Long-term weather protection — the PE 73 polyurethane topcoat protects the structure from UV radiation, moisture, and normal mechanical stress.
- Extended service life of the zinc coating — the duplex system combines the advantages of hot-dip galvanizing and a coating system, thereby significantly extending the overall service life of the structure.
What to Watch Out For
- The system is designed for hot-dip galvanized substrates—other approved systems are intended for plain steel or metallized surfaces.
- Proper preparation of the zinc surface is required before application—removing contaminants, salts, and any corrosion products is essential for achieving optimal adhesion.
- Follow the prescribed system composition—only the approved combination of layers meets the requirements of TKP 19B and ONS.
